Ok here are the last of them. This is Freemont street. There was a cover band playing there that night. They were pretty good.

Every hour they turn on the canopy with lights and music. It is different everytime, but this time it was Queen! I don't know if you can see what is going on in these pictures, but it was really cool. They had all sorts of Queen images going on with the music blasting.

THE GREATEST RIVALRY OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!

well at least at my house. the eagles play the cowboys tonight. i am a long time eagles fan and is a huge cowboys fan (shocker). they play each other tonight! they both kicked major butt in their last games. so, it is going to be tense, to say the least, tonight in my home. don't worry though, when the eagles smack down the stupid cowboys all be right with the world.

ok here are some more vegas pics. i guess we are on the third day. it is all starting to run together now. there was a very cute park right across the street from jr's parent's house. so we went there early to beat the heat.

that night we went to the cirque show KA. it was frickin awesome! it is very hard to describe how cool it was. i'll just say that everyone needs to see a cirque show at least once. they are worth the money.

the next day we spent time exploring the strip. this is the wild wild west. it is a trucker casino and hotel. this is where our maid of honor and best man stayed for our wedding. haha. it is sort of a running joke with us. so, elizabeth here is your precious wild wild west. i know you've missed it so.

we made a stop at the hilton. i am sort of a star trek geek. so, i wanted to see the star trek stuff they have at the hilton. we just happened to be there for a star trek convention. hilarious! drew got a stuffed borg bear (you can barely see it in the pic with elvis) if you don't know what a borg is....i won't go into all that. moving on...

We walked from the hilton to circus circus. they said it was a short walk. they lied. we took a cab back. anyway, in circus circus they have a new thing called the adventure dome. it has tons of rides and games inside this huge dome. it was fun and expensive (just like everything in vegas)

drew had his first day at a new school today. we all (all 4 parents) walked him into his new classroom and met his new teacher. for those of you that don't know, he is no longer at christ lutheran. he is starting second grade at jefferson elementary school. it is within walking distance from our house. it was very cute. he just went in and sat down at his desk like he had known these people for years. he is a little man. susan was sad that he didn't want a hug or anything. he is growing up soooo fast. i love that he is so independent. there was a little red head girl sitting across from him. so, of course i started imagining their wedding and all their beautiful little children. haha. is that strange?

Well we are back from our week in vegas!! We had a blast. We spent way too much of our time in planes. There was something wrong with each one and i think we were delayed a total of 7 hours for the whole trip. Anyway on to happier subjects.

The first day we went to the bass pro shop. it was frickin huge!!

There was a really cool aquarium just outside of the bass pro shop in the silverton casino.

After that we went to a chocolate factory and took a free tour with free samples. The chocolate was yummy but kind of expensive. Right outside the chocolate factory there is a cactus garden. I never knew there were some many different kinds of cacti.

OK this was day 2. We loaded up Gary's jet skis and headed over the dam to Willow Beach on the Colorado River.

You can see how low Lake Mead is...notice the old water line.

They are building a bridge across the mountains. I don't know if you can see it. It was crazy how they have to move pieces along the wires and add piece by piece.

Willow Beach was so much fun. The water was freezing. It felt like it was from melted snow. This was a weird experience when it was 108 in the desert. There were lots of ducks and they would come right up to you.

We took the jet skis out and they were a lot of fun on the smooth water. I didn't have my camera with me but we saw mountain sheep with huge horns jumping from rock to rock on the mountain.

ok i have been tagged by elizabeth. so, here ya go.
i have my biology final tonight. eeek. i took my psychology final over the weekend. there were only 24 questions! i mean come on, that sucks. i got a b so i am happy. anyway i am freaking about the biology final. i have about 1,000 note cards sitting on my desk. i keep going through them over and over. ask me anything...i friggin know biology. i did a couple other things to prepare for the test, though. i needed a confidence boost to prepare for the test. soooo i cut all my hair off and painted my nails a funky green. i am prepared for battle. i feel young and smart and free of long boring hair. i...am...ready! do you do anything to boost your confidence? am i the only one?

So Andrew and I decided to read the Harry Potter books together. I had never actually read the first one. I have read all the others though. We decided that I would read one page and he would read the next and so on. Yesterday we finished the first book. I'm not sure how long that took us but it was awhile. We mostly just read every night before bed. I just love those books. He is getting so much better at reading them. The first few chapters were a little painful. He was reading but not listening to himself and he mumble through words he didn't know. Now he actually follows the story when he reads. He yells the all caps words. He has even started to change his voice a little for different characters. I love it. The more reading the better. We started the second book last night. That movie has always freaked him out. He even suggested we skip that book. I told him he may like it better when he reads it and that he was really young the first time he saw the movie. I am going to keep track of how long it takes us to read this one. Yay, it's a good one, nice and creepy!

Sorry for the lack of posting lately.
I have been busy.
I hate posting without pictures and my camera sucks.

Ok those are all my excuses. I really just haven't felt like it lately. I will post something, though. yay i'm excited....
Well as some of you know we had a tornado rip through our neighborhood not to long ago. It was very scary and we got very lucky that something serious didn't happen to us. All that did happen is that a tree branch went through the windshield of my car. I took it in and two weeks and $4,000 worth of damage later...I am getting it back today! I have been driving a rental and I miss the Honda terribly. I am very excited to get it back, finally. What else....
Last weekend we went to Kat and Karl's baby shower(see pics here and here). It was so much fun. All the girls that put it on did a fantastic job! I got a little sunburnt but I brought sunscreen like a good little redhead and so the damage was minimal. On Sunday Jr, Karl, Mike, and I played golf at War Memorial. I hadn't played in sooooooo long. I really sucked but I loved being out there. I missed it so much. I almost got hit in the face by a stray golf ball twice (the same frickin guys). So that was exciting. Ok that's all you get....

I know I know it has been forever since I posted. Our camera has gone cooky, so I don't have pics of all the fun Christmas things we've been doing lately. We had Drew last week. We went to a tree farm and cut down our own tree!!! It was the first time I had done that. We had a blast. This is the pic from their website. Of course, I got so excited to do this, I forgot how allergic I am to, you know, trees. I am all drugged up and loving the tree!

We also decorated with lights all over our apt. and we put up our stockings. We've started our shopping but are far from done. What about you? If you say you are done I will throw up.

Thursday Andrew has his Christmas program. I am really going to try and take pictures, but don't yell at me if it doesn't work.

This weekend the Christmas continues. Sat. we are going to Leah's annual Christmas Extravaganza. Woohoo!!!!! I can't wait for some beer, some food, and to see my friends . I haven't seen them in years. Then Sunday we are going to do the Christmas thing with my Dad since we will both be out of town for the real thing.

In the mean time it is 4000 days and counting until I am off work for a long holiday. Ugh I can't wait.

Well, We got 2nd Place!!!!
As most of you know, I coached 5th grade girls Volleyball for CLS this year. We didn't win a single game in the season and we were in last place going into the tournament. We surprised everyone, though, and won 2nd place in the tournament. We now have the first Volleyball trophy in the CLS trophy room. I am so proud of those girls. Sorry for the blurry pics. I think our camera is set wrong or something.

Well, as most of you know, I am going back to school. Before I could do that, though, I had to take the stupid ACT again. Well, I took it Saturday. Whew I am glad that is over. On the plus side, I finally learned algebra. On the down side, It wasn't on the frickin test. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Thankfully there was a Halloween Party to go to Saturday night. I got to dress up and get my mind off of the test. I was Lucille Ball and Jr was the tennis player guy from The Royal Tennenbaums. Well, by the end of the night we decided he was Chico the illegitimate son of Royal and the maid. Here are a few pics, courtesy of Elizabeth.

Well, this is how I felt Friday. I went to get tested for allergies. I've always know I have allergies. I've always sneezed and my eyes have always gotten itchy around cats. Lately, another symptom has reared its ugly head. I wheeze and gasp for air when I start having an allergic reaction. It doesn't help matters that we have a cat and live in a little carpet covered apt. Anyway, it was driving Jr and I crazy. It started happening every night. So, I finally decided to do something about it.

I went to an allergy specialist. They had me blow into a plastic tube as hard as I could to find out if I have asthma. They said the test didn't say I did and it didn't say I didn't. Well, that's helpful. Next, they had me lie on my stomach. They pricked me all over my back. The first one they did started itching immediately. It was pretty miserable because they left me there to itch and not be able to scratch for twenty minutes. Turns out that one was cat. I thought we were done, but they did eight more on my arm and left those for fifteen minutes. Geez, well turns out I am allergic to cats, dogs, dust mites, cockroaches, horses, trees, and weeds. Since almost everything I am allergic to surrounds me all the time, they are going to start giving me shots to take away my allergies. In the mean time I am on a butt-load of medicine. Sounds like fun, huh?

I don't have much to post. I am coaching CLS Volleyball again. This year I have the fifth grade. They know nothing of volleyball but they look so cute trying. No way were we ever that tiny. Our first game is Thursday. We only have six games because none of the other schools have enough girls for fifth grade teams. Oh well, wish us luck.

Oh yeah, I also lost 10 pounds on the Atkins diet. I am back on carbs. I decided I am going to crash no carb diet whenever I need to loose a few pounds. The ten only took three weeks. Jr lost a lot more than I did. He included exercise in his diet plan...whatever. I am perfectly happy with 10.

Well, I have some news. I wasn't going to say anything until I started. I didn't want to jinx it. I am going back to school and I am going to get my nursing degree. Wow that feels strange to say. The reason I am breaking my rule and telling you now is because it is going to take longer than I thought to start. Why? Well, I just found out I have to re-take my ACT since it has been so frickin long since the first time. Ugh. I hated that thing. So much pressure...so much riding on one little test. I think I'll study this time. Who knows, maybe I'll even get a better score this time, if I can remember Algebra. Geez, I hate Algebra.

So, yesterday Jr convinced me that we should have some cheap physical activity that we can do together. His choice was Tennis. I had never played before. So, I was worried about making a fool of myself. He used to play with his mom when he was younger, but he hadn't played in a while. Verdict: Awesome! I really enjoyed it. It was very good exercise and it was a lot of fun. I did better than I thought I would. I guess playing Volleyball all those years helped. I can't wait to go back.

Sunday Andrew turned 6 years old! Our present to him was season passes to Magic Springs. We drove up early in the morning to beat the crowd, only to discover they don't open until Noon. So we had to think quick. We decided to visit The Mid America Science Museum which was nearby. They have changed it a little. Jr and Andrew have never been there. They really got a kick out of it. There was a demonstration where they had to go up front and make their hair stand straight up. I got a picture, but my stupid camera's flash is broken and it was too dark in there. I tried everything I know to lighten it. Nothing I did worked. Any ideas? Anyway, we finally got to Magic Springs. They have rides on one side and a water park on the other. I rode a bunch of the rides with Andrew, but I left the water park stuff to Jr. I am not a big fan of large public swimming areas. Just me? Anyway I got a good nap on a chair beside the wave pool in the shade. It was a good day. So here are all the pictures...enjoy!

Ok I am updating. Recently we took a roadtrip to Kansas City to visit my mom. We went with Brent and his girlfriend Tamara. We had Andrew and Tyson in our car. We all had a blast.

We went to a Kansas City Royals game. The stadium was massive. Andrew bought a little bat with his own money.

Poor Andrew. Today Andrew is a graduate. He is set to graduate from Kindergarten this evening. Unfortunately, he is very sick. He went to the doctor yesterday with a 104 fever. It turns out he has strep for the second time in two weeks. His white blood cell count was way off and they almost admitted him. They are trying a new antibiotic. We will have to see how this one works. Of course, now he won't be able to walk in his graduation. It really sucks, but hopefully this new medicine will work better.

So, this weekend was good. Sunday we found a new spot. My brother Brent and his girlfriend Tamara let Jr and I in on their favorite spot. They wanted to do a little fishing and I wanted to do a little Tecate and lime drinking in the sun. So, we were all happy.

It was a good time. Jr caught the only two fish and this was the first one. It was pretty funny. Isn't it cute? Well, we let those go of course but it was a good time anyway.

We stayed and cooked burgers as it got dark. None of us thought to bring a light, though. So this candle that someone left behind was our only light. So smart.

I am finally posting pictures of the Cruise. Halfway through the trip we ran out of room on our camera. So, we had to download our pics onto Jr's step-dad's computer. Ok this is Belize City, Belize. Jr took this picture of the graves. They have one cemetery and they've had it in the same place since the founding of the city. They built the road after and just went around a few of them. Crazy.

This is their "famous" mountain that looks like a man lying on his back. Can you see it?

Our excursion for this location was zip lining. Oh Yeah! It was sweet. This is the entrance. I just thought the bridge and entrance looked cool.

Here we are all dressed up for zip-lining. Yeah yeah...shut it. You have to use both hands while zip-lining. So, I couldn't get any cool action shots.

This was our last destination. Costa Maya, Mexico. It is a small fishing village. All that was there was this little square with shops.

I thought this picture of the kids was funny. We waited about and hour for the parents to figure out what the best deal was. It was finally sunny and a beach day. So, everyone was dying to get going.

A short drive took us to this fabulous beach. We worked a deal to get drinks and chips included. It was awesome. The chairs in this picture are ours. We hung out right on the water all day.

There was another Christmas Program on Sunday. This one was with the Sunday Schoool classes. Andrew and I spent three hours Saturday afternoon at the dress rehearsal. There were so many kids to wrangle that they ended up asking me to help out. The first part of the program was more singing. Here is another video. The second part was a skit. Andrew was a shepherd. Here is a video of him in his costume. That is the last one I promise. He was just too cute.

We went to Andrew's Christmas program last night. It was so cute! The lighting sucked, though. So, none of the pictures came out. I am checking with Susan to see if she got any. We sort of figured out how to take video with the camera. There are a bunch of them. I uploaded this one on youtube. In true parent video fashion, it is kind of shaky and there are random heads and arms of other parents. Oh well, he is the one in the dark outfit on the end. The one not doing the hand motions or singing. He was just adorable. Oh here is one picture that was fuzzy. I had to put it on there because even though it looks like he is singing he isn't. This is the part of the program when he started yawning. Too funny!

I'm sure you guys don't remember, but six months ago we got stuck at Outback when our battery died. Well we got a new one, no big deal. Until, last night. I went out to start the car to get us something to eat and it was dead again! What is going on? We arranged for someone to give us a jump this morning and we took it right back to the place we got the old one. They said it was defective and leaking. Geez. They replaced at at no charge, which was nice. I'm just thankful it wasn't something big because we just spent a lot of money on Christmas presents.

Well, we renewed our membership at the gym.

I vow to be constantly attached to the treadmill to be ready for the cruise in December. I promise to not stop in the middle of the program or make up excuses in my head on why I can quit. I pledge to make the trip to the gym as often as possible and remind myself that is not that far of a drive. I have 38 days to get in shape and I will take advantage of each one.

Well it is Monday, Boo! This weekend was interesting/exhausting. We had Andrew and his little sister Kaylee for the weekend. Susan and her hubby got tickets to the Arkansas game in Fayetteville. So, we offered to keep both the little boogers for her. I took a few pictures. We had a good time. Jr had to work Sat. night. So, I had them both by myself all night. I have a new found respect for my mother. She did it all by herself with four!!!

It's Friday! Yea! This has been a long week. I'm bored today. So, I thought I would post. I don't really have anything to post about. So, sorry if I ramble. I have no plans this weekend. What is everyone doing? I will probably end up at the rose Saturday night at some point. Other than that I have no idea. Brady, my little brother, is coming in town Monday. He will be here for a week. WooHoo! I haven't seen him all summer. He was interning in Houston. He liked it so much he was considering dropping out of school and staying in Houston. I'm glad he liked it but come on. I told him that as some one older and wiser he should listen to me. STAY IN SCHOOL! He only has a year left. I can't believe he was even considering it. Kids (insert emphatic eye rolling here)!
What else....Jr and I are going on a cruise this Christmas. We are going to Belize, Roatan, Honduras, Cozumel, and Costa Maya, Mexico. It should be fun. We are going with his whole family. I think we are at 23 people right now. I am on a mission to get to my pre-marriage weight before we go. Wish me luck.

We had a very eventful weekend. Friday night we took Andrew bowling. He loved it. He even got his first spare with a little help from the bumpers. Then Saturday we had his fifth birthday at Wild River Country. He loves that place. I managed to remember to take a few pictures. That night we went to Mike and Audra's wedding. It was very beautiful and we had a blast at the reception. I forgot to bring my camera to that. So, you will just have to look at the links to other blogs on the right for those pictures. Sunday Jr and I played golf. I thought it was going to be hot but it turned out to be a beautiful day. That night Jr cooked fajitas. Yum!

Ghostbusters was on TV last night. I remembered how much my little brothers loved this movie. I mean they had the toys, the trap and the pack with the gun. We drank the slimer juice. You remember that stuff? Anyway, I decided to watch it with Andrew. Yeah, there is a lot more cussing and scary/adult scenes than I remember. He loved it anyway, although he did get a little scared in some parts. He went to bed still singing, "Who ya gonna call?"

Happy Fourth Everyone! Monday a big group of us went to the Faded Rose (good to see you, John and Leslie). It was fun and nice to be off in the middle of the week. Tuesday Jr and I played golf. It was not my best round...That's all I have to say about that. We went to my Dad's at four for his 4th of July party. He makes his own wine so we helped ourselves to that. There was tons of food and drink. It was great. We bought fireworks but left before it got dark enough to shoot them. Then we fell asleep early and didn't shoot of a single one. I don't know what to do with all of them now. Oh well.

Tonight Jr and I are going to Movies in the Park. They do it every Wednesday on the river. Admission is free. All you need is a blanket to sit on and maybe some food and beer. They are playing Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back! It is going to be friggin awesome. I can't wait.

Calling all friends...
Here is what I was thinking. With all this talk of beaches and friends, I thought, Why not plan a group beach vacation? Everyone is getting married and will be or already is starting a family. This may be our last chance to all hang out together. I was thinking if we started planning now we could beat the wedding rush that is sure to begin again next summer. I don't care where we go as long as there is sand and water and sun. We could rent a house or a condo on a beach somewhere. If we had enough people we could get it for cheap. It is actually to early to book for next summer (I've sort of checked into it already). I just wanted to throw it out there and see if there are any takers. Anyone? Come on it would be frickin awesome and you know it.

Ok, Elizabeth. Here is a post. My Mom, Grandma, and little brother Kyle came into town this weekend. Friday night we ate at The Purple Cow...yummy. Saturday we met up with My Uncle Jean,Aunt Deannie, and my older brother Brent for lunch at Mimi's. It was a long wait but very good. They left early Sunday morning. It was a nice family weekend. Sunday Jr and I went and played golf at Hindman golf course. It was my first time to play there. It is very different from War Memorial. I was nervous at first but I eventually hit my stride and played pretty well, despite the heat. After that we went home, cleaned up, and went to eat at Outback. Sarah Jane was bartending but I didn't talk to her. I see her there every time and never talk to her. I don't know why. Anyway, we ate a huge meal and had an espresso martini as dessert. Yeah it was as good as it sounds. We got out to the car and I turned the key. Nothing happened. The car was dead. I didn't take pictures but I found these online to illustrate. We called someone from The Rose to help. They jumped us and it started right up. We drove home and when we turned it off it wouldn't come back on. So we arranged for someone to come by this morning to give us a jump and we headed to Sears for a new battery. Now it is fine. It wasn't too expensive and it was a simple problem, but it gave us a big scare when the car wouldn't start. All is well now, though.

Yesterday after work Jr, Brady, and I went golfing at War Memorial. They had been golfing all day, but they decided to go again so I could play. I forgot to take pictures until the very end. Oh well. We saw Joe Johnson, for those of you who know about basketball. We weren't sure it was him and then we saw his Rolls-Royce in the parking lot. I had no idea who he was. Apparently he graduated from Central here in Little Rock and he just signed a huge deal with Atlanta or somebody. I don't know, they were excited about it.

Sorry to keep everyone waiting. I forgot my camera yesterday. Saturday we had an adventure. I am calling it Annie's Night O' Fun. I brought my camera to document every second for those of you who couldn't be there.
Leah, Matt, Karl, Annie, and I started the night at The Faded Rose. She was going to get a tattoo and wanted to have a drink first. Don't tell the tattoo people. She could get in trouble.

We all rode in Karl's truck to the tattoo place. Elizabeth was going to meet us there. She was at her Mom's B-Day dinner. Happy Birthday Becky! Leah and Annie didn't know I was taking a picture.
When we got there Annie had to get the design she wanted online. They printed it out and Annie signed all the I will not sue you forms.
They put the design on to see how it was going to look. Here she is showing us.
Here is the tattoo guy actually giving her the tattoo. Sorry it is blurry. I decided mid picture that the flash might be a little distracting.

Here is the final product. It is an Australian Aboriginal (Sp?) design. Annie you should comment with the exact meaning.

After it was over we headed back to the Rose.
We got some celebratory shots and a few more beers. It was an awesome night!

Jr, Andrew, and I went to the Arkansas Travelers baseball game. They played the Tulsa Drillers. It was pretty fun for awhile. We ended up leaving in the fifth inning when Tulsa scored their 5th run and we still had none. According to their website Tulsa won 11-3. Yeah, I'm glad we didn't stay for that beating. Oh well, it's always fun to eat hotdogs and peanuts and play bingo between innings. Yea, baseball!

Last night I went to the grocery store. I was going to make a quiche. I've been craving it for weeks. I had picked up a few ingredients when I got a phone call. It was JR. He was at work and he asked me to be the hostess for the night. Well, I haven't done that in two years. I used to hate doing it. Wednesdays are busy nights at his restaurant and they had no one else. So, I agreed to do it. I got there and the bus boy left with a "fever". I had to be the busser and hostess for the night in a place I don't even work! It was a strange night. I'm glad it is over.

I know I talked about this show when it first aired. I guess only a few of us watched because CBS stopped showing it.

"Love Monkey is on hiatus and there's no scheduled return date," a network spokesperson says. However, sources close to the show tell E! Online's TV columnist Kristen Veitch that Love Monkey won't be coming back.

Well, VH1 is showing all the episodes that they taped but never aired. I watched the first one last night. It reminded me why I love this show. Everyone should watch it. Then maybe they will realize how great it is and bring it back. I hate when tv stations take off really brilliant shows (arrested development) and keep really crappy shows (hope & faith). Well, I will be watching and praying someone one at CBS will get a clue.

In the current issue of EW, we say who we'd like to see back in the hot tub this summer, but for the first time ever fans will get to choose who participates in the game from a pool of 20 former houseguests (BB6's Kaysar Ridha, stay by your phone!). CBS has yet to announce how or when voting will occur.
So far, the basic rules will remain unchanged for the all-star version: One by one, the houseguests will vote each other out of the house and at the end of three months, the last remaining houseguest will receive $500,000. And yes, Julie Chen will return as host.

We have been trying to figure out what Andrew can do this summer. Yesterday when we dropped him off at his Mom's work; we decided to get some info at The Little Gym (you know the one where Kat works). It is in the same shopping center as Susan's office. They have a summer program three days a week and there is a different theme each week. It is really inexpensive, too. I think we are going to try that three days a week and CLS two days. I think he will really love it.
